Science Teacher For Middle School And High School (2 Needed)
DescriptionWe are looking for a mature Christian who is a University graduate who majored in Biology, Chemistry or Physics. We prefer someone who has a teaching credential for middle school or high school but majoring in this field is adequate. Classes are Life Science, Physical Science, Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Curriculum is Bob Jones. Beautiful lab and teaching classroom with stations for experiments. This science lab has a good supply of equipment, internet access, projector and white board for teaching.

Grades 7 and 8 dismiss by 1:25 p.m. Each day and grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 are dismissed by 2:30 p.m. each day. Class size is no more than 20 students. . Classes are also multi-cultural. 1 Kindergarten (K-5) Teacher
DescriptionWe are looking for strong Christian individuals who love children and enjoy working with young ages. We prefer our teachers to have a degree or credential in teaching young school age children. However, we will consider those that have experience teaching young ages. These children are learning early reading skills and correct pencil grip and formation of letters. Attention to detail and following curriculum is a must. The head teacher gives guidance. Each class also has a teaching assistant as support. Abeka Curriculum and A-Z Reading are used for Language arts, science and social studies. We use the Saxon math curriculum for kindergarten with a variety of manipulative to teach concepts. Positive Action for Christ is used for Bible. Other subjects include P.E./Swimming, computer, art and music. Class size is no more than 18 students. . School begins at 7:15 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. Classes are also multi-cultural. DescriptionWe are looking for a Christian college graduate who is a credentialed teacher to fill this position. We use the Abeka Curriculum for Spelling/Poetry, Penmanship and World History. We use Saxon for Math, Positive Action for Christ for Bible and material from Sonlight for reading and literature, World of Language by Scott Foresman for Language and Grammar. Wordly wise by Educators Publishing is used for vocabulary skills. We also use the Accelerated Reading program. Class size is no more than 20 students. Students must be 10 by August 1st to be eligible for this grade. Classes are also multi-cultural. We have over 21 nationalities represented in our student body.

Computer Teacher
Description We prefer a college graduate but will consider any Christian individual with experience and expertise in the computer field that has a love for children and a desire to teach. All grades Kindergarten through 8th grade take a computer classes. Kindergarten through 6th grade have class once a week for 50 min. This is a total of 13 classes. Seventh and Eighth Graders have class twice a week for 50 min. each and there is also the Tech Works computer curriculum in place. Younger grades focus on the parts and names of a computer, language for the computer literate, basic keyboarding/typing skills. Older grades are introduced to word, excel and other programs needed in today’s world as a student. Internet skills are introduced but closely monitored by teacher for projects and research. Accelerated reading tests are also taken for the first 10-15 minutes of class for grades first through sixth. School dismisses by 1:25 p.m. Class size is no more than 20 students. . English Or Language Arts Teacher For Middle School And High School ( 2 1 Needed)
DescriptionWe are looking for a Christian college graduate who majored in this subject or that has a credential in teaching upper school for grades 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade. We use a mixture of curriculum for these classes. We use Write Source, Inc. by Houghton Mifflin. We use the Abeka Grammar and Composition II and III for Grade 8 and 9. We use a variety of chapter books from sonlight and ACSI suggested reading lists for Literature. Prentice Hall is also used for World Literature (10th), American Literature (11th) and British Literature (12th) and poetry sections. Each class reads 6-8 novels a year. Novels are discussed in class, tested on and essays are written. Worldly Wise by Educators Publishing is used for vocabulary skills in all grades mentioned. Grades 7 and 8 dismiss by 1:25 p.m. Each day and grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 are dismissed by 2:30 p.m. each day. Class size is no more than 20 students. . Classes are also multi-cultural. Math Teacher For Middle School And High School
DescriptionWe are looking for a Christian college graduate teacher who majored in math for grades 7th, 8th, 9th, 10, 11th, and 12th. We would also consider an individual who has teaching credential for middle/high school and can handle this subject matter. We use Saxon Math and Prentice Hall curriculum. We use the math 8/7 text for 7th grade Algebra ½ or Pre-algebra for 8th grade. High School courses include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. All tests and resource materials are available to the teacher. 7th and 8th grade dismiss by 1:24 p.m. daily. Ninth grade and up dismiss by 2:30 p.m. each day. Show Choir / Music Teacher
DescriptionWe are looking for a Christian college graduate who sings well, loves music and has some experience teaching music or choir to elementary age children. This teacher would teach music to all classes K-4 through 6th grade. These classes meet once a week for 50 min each. There are two classes per age group at ABC so this is 15 classes total but 7 of these are for a repeating grade. We are also looking to establish a Show Choir Elective to the High school for a one-unit credit towards graduation. There is a music room at the ABC Christian Academy for teaching music as one of our special courses offered. Class size is no more than 20 students. Classes are also multi-cultural. DescriptionWe are looking for a Christian college graduate who is a credentialed teacher to fill this position. We use the World Of Language by Silver, Burdett and Gunn along with Write Source by Houghton Mifflin for our Language arts program. We use reading lists from Sonlight and ACSI. Worldly Wise by Educators Publishing is used for vocabulary skills. We use Saxon for Math and Positive Action for Christ for our Bible Curriculum. Science is Space and Earth and World Geography and the Ancient World by Prentice Hall is used for our 6th grade History program. We also use the Accelerated Reading program. Our teachers also use the computer techworks level 6 for basic computer skills. Next year we will combine our current two fifth grade classes into one class of 25-30 pupils. Students must be 11 by August 1st to be eligible for this grade. Classes are also multi-cultural We have 11 countries represented in these students. Athletics Director
DescriptionABC Christian Academy is proud to house a robust and growing athletics department. Our main goal is to share the love of Christ with our students and the community through the use of sport. If you love to be outdoors, instruct and enjoy sports, this may be an ideal position for you.

Responsibilities Include:
• Oversee the Athletics Department at ABC Christian Academy.
• Writing semester evaluations of students
• overseeing and organizing the upward field hockey, soccer and basketball units
• teaching daily P.E.classes
• keeping grades for classes
• organizing afternoon activity schedules, posing sign up lists and keeping track of attendance
• organizing and overseeing the staff who coach and help with activities
• organizing sporting events (including two inter-house events and our sporting teams who compete around the city with other schools)
• purchasing equipment and/or uniforms yearly
• being a liaison between other Sports Directors and school for sporting events
• managing the spots lockers with equipment
• managing the football pitch, outdoor basketball court and new gym in 2017-2018
• giving house assignments and keeping house points

History Teacher For Middle School And High School
DescriptionWe are looking for a mature, Christian college graduate with a love for history and preferably University-level credit for a range of history-related courses or that has a credential in teaching upper school for grades 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade. Courses include World Geography, World History, U.S. History, Government and Economics for High School. Jr. High or middle school courses for 7th grade study the geography and history of Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Medieval Times to Today. Students in the 8th grade study the United States and Canada, Europe and Russia and Latin America. Middle school curriculum uses Prentice Hall. High School courses use Prentice Hall, Glencoe/McGraw Hill for curriculum.

We use Houghton Mifflin Grade 3 for mathematics. Other subjects include ACSI science Grade 3, ABeka health, and ACSI Bible. Egypt and Mexico are studied for Social Studies.
